I forgot to post this over the weekend: 3/5/2004 - during the brief window that Multnomah County, Oregon was allowing same-sex marriages. We're in a long line in the Portland drizzle outside the Multnomah courthouse.

In November prop 36 passed putting one-man, one-woman marriage in the state constitution, and a judge annulled all our marriages.

The second heavy band of snow is coming down hard - and sideways due to the wind. Poor little juncos, sparrows, and finches just trying not to get blown away. (A couple of more pics in the comments).

More images. Sometimes the birds puff up so much trying to get warm they are hard to identify

Oh, for feel-o-vision. This yarn doesn't look particularly exciting, but it's a combination of baby camel down and mulberry silk, and so soft and silky. This is over 220 yds/200 meters, two ply. I have a pound/453 gm of this fluff and still have a bobbin's worth to reel and about 7 oz/200 gm left to spin.

Woo hoo! 2 hour delay for work means I get to clear the driveway (or at least my side)

Bird food station and staging station. Snow makes it particularly frenetic - the feeder often has a half dozen birds jockeying for a perch.

MO Boudreaux says "the only reasonable response to all this snow is to snuggle down in a cozy bed."

I don't have mending for this week's prompt, so I just went with sewn. This blanket was both spun and woven by me. Used different breeds: Corriedale, Grey Finn, Jacob, Gotland, and Shetland. Hemmed and two panels sewn together with handspun tussah silk. My cat MO Boudreaux claimed it from day one - here is after wet finishing and has been laid out to dry: still wet but cat says "mine."

It's here! It's here! My new Majacraft Susie. A bit of assembly and it's good to go. It's *heavy* with its solid drivewheel, but of so pretty, plus the heaviness make treadling almost effortless. And it is so quiet. Plus you can flip the flyer head to either side, so this lefty doesn't have to fight the design.

? After all these years of spinning, this is the first time I've spun with firestar. Roving from Wild Wool Farm: Corriedale w/12% firestar. Colorway Marianas Trench. Wheel my sweet old Clemes and Clemes.

This week's theme is ? As I said with my waffle weave piece, I love fabric that changes dramatically from web-on-the-loom to finished cloth. Lace is a great example of this. I frankly don't remember what this huck project was, but I use the end sample as a challah cover.

Woo hoo! My Majacraft Suzie is on its way! No delivery date yet how long from Buffalo, NY to Carson City, NV? Hoping that I do not have to deal with the infamous "cracked base" issue.

Now to thin the herd and find a good home for my poor, neglected Ashford traddy.

Waffle weave dishcloth Redux. I found my pristine sampleand, even better, the pre-wet finishing sample. I still love live fabrics  - collapse twill, lace, etc. Where the magic really is in the water (aka wet finishing)
week

I know last week was color week of but I still want to play. A set of 8 tea towels. 8 shaft twill I changed weft pattern and tie-up for each. I'll post individual underneath. Enbiggen for the pattern. These are pre hemming. MO Boudreaux is chief fiber inspector she doesn't mess with my weaving or spinning in process, but has the last say @fiberarts@a.gup.pe @weaving
