Waffle weave dishcloth. Well used, and very hard to photograph. I love live fabrics - collapse twill, lace, etc. Where the magic really is in the water (aka wet finishing)

I'm so excited! These were at the clinic administration building. Two elders, Lisa Enos and Melba Rakow, who are fluent in the Wašiw language, retold and translated four of the People's stories. Each illustrated by a different artist also from the tribe. If you enbiggen the last image you will read Washoe is considered a language isolate, and as you can imagine it is hanging on by a thread and supported by efforts to teach to younger members.
We used to have flickers all the time in Reno. I mostly hear them here. It's a crappy zoom pic on a phone, but still fun to see #birdsofmastodom
Good morning! I enjoy this view so much better with functional heat! Esp. Since it is 18°F/-8°C. I also can't remember the last time I saw the Sierras so covered with snow, esp. This early in winter. #Photomonday
Yesterday it rained on and off. Last night it poured and wind howled. I woke to puddles on the desert sands, which I never see. Then it started to snow huge wet flakes that looked like someone hocked a lugie when it hit cement or brick. Soon everything was covered in snow. I'm glad I have nowhere to go. Just hope the power stays on.
