Waffle weave dishcloth. Well used, and very hard to photograph. I love live fabrics - collapse twill, lace, etc. Where the magic really is in the water (aka wet finishing)
week

I'm so excited! These were at the clinic administration building. Two elders, Lisa Enos and Melba Rakow, who are fluent in the Wašiw language, retold and translated four of the People's stories. Each illustrated by a different artist also from the tribe. If you enbiggen the last image you will read Washoe is considered a language isolate, and as you can imagine it is hanging on by a thread and supported by efforts to teach to younger members.

We used to have flickers all the time in Reno. I mostly hear them here. It's a crappy zoom pic on a phone, but still fun to see

So this is what the eastern Sierra Nevada mountains and the Pine Nut mountains look like on the first clear sky after gaining another 4-8 feet of snow. (If you squint/embiggen you can see the tribal clinic in the second picture - the first building on the left with the dome roof)

Good morning! We've got a break between the storms. No snow overnight = no shoveling the driveway this morning.

My view leaving work last night, under a Wolf Moon. I have never seen the sagebrush completely covered and obscured by snow before this run of weather. Probably more coming tomorrow

Good morning! I enjoy this view so much better with functional heat! Esp. Since it is 18°F/-8°C. I also can't remember the last time I saw the Sierras so covered with snow, esp. This early in winter.

12/31/22 3:30. 1/1/23. Power went out around 4:30 last night. Predicted time to restore 5 pm. Thank goodness for a gas stove and fireplace. We have had our high for the day, 32F/0C supposed to drop into the teens (-7 to -12C) tonight.

Yesterday it rained on and off. Last night it poured and wind howled. I woke to puddles on the desert sands, which I never see. Then it started to snow huge wet flakes that looked like someone hocked a lugie when it hit cement or brick. Soon everything was covered in snow. I'm glad I have nowhere to go. Just hope the power stays on.

Pouring rain again, but between the storm fronts. Maybe a good auger for the coming year?

Bought a couple of new baskets, so my hands-on is better sorted. Still need to set the ply in a bunch.

I took individual pics too - I have been on a few spinning jags the last while and would really like sell some and get it out in the world.

I do love playing with silk

Last night of Hannukah. May the warmth and light burn brightly within us all

Huh. In general, MO Boudreaux is not a lap cat. She is more of a snuggle next to cat. But she just jumped up into my lap.

Snow stopped. A lot more than expected. Clear skys = plummeting Temps, but it all looks purty.
