Finally set the twist in some homespun that has been languishing, waiting to be finished. Still have two more batches to do. My new loom is particularly for my homespun. Got quite the stash built up and I'm going to be a scarf making maniac.

Left to Right: Baby camel and mulberry silk; Alpaca; Merino, alpaca and tussah silk.

Actually it's going to be up to 90 mug rugs in 6 patterns and multiple colors

Actually it's going to be as many as I can make (up to 90) "mug rugs" for my co-workers. Using these six patterns. And multiple colors.

The Pendleton rugs are off the loom. (The weft is te trimmings from Pendleton blankets post fulling).

Hemming and wet finishing still need to be done. These are the largest I've made, they could be (very heavy) blankets. The red and green are 48" x 95". The multi color is shorter because I miss counted a couple of sections of warp and just ran out of warp.

Picture does not do it justice, but this is my new name tag lanyard. It was beaded (peyote stitch) by a Washoe co-worker and commissioned by my CMO. Now that's motivation to wear my name tag.

Too busy/tired to do much during the week, but rug #1 is half done. Mostly green with a crazy quilt approach in the center in a predominantly blue palate. Pendleton blanket trimmings for weft. @weaving

OK, this is an absolute first for me. There is always, always, one last spool with 40-80 yds left on it. This time, it was 2 4 oz balls, spun over 4 spools (Clemes and Clemes spools are on the small size). By the time I got through all 4 spools, only about 6" difference! And for those following at home: yes, dear Ms. S is functioning just fine, the problem was (new) user error. @spinning @spinningyarn

Well the first completed yarn off the new Majacraft Suzie (Spun my Clemes and Clemes but plyed on the Suzie.) 2-ply Corriedale with a hint of Firestar named Marianas Trench from Wild Wool Farm

Unfortunately, dear Suzie has a problem-I can't get the flyer off, and there is probably a problem that is going to mean replacing a part - Response from the dealer from has been quick, but no idea how long to resolution. See? Another reason for multiple wheels 😁

Everything took longer than expected, but loom is dressed and weaving has commenced. Forgot how fussy the worms can be. This warp should give 3 rugs, about 100" each. First one will be dominant browns and greens.

Picture taken at work on March 13, watching the clouds climb over the mountains, heralding the next storm front.

Well, that took longer than expected. Several issues along the way that I will probably need to fix later, but for now, that's done-the warp beam is loaded. I've got company coming over tomorrow, but I can certainly get the heddles threaded before. Trying to decide if I should put my steel bar on my beater for more weight, but I can't find my screws, and don't know if I want to take the time to go to the store for more. Sleying should be quick and easy at 10 epi. @fiberarts@a.gup.pe

Happy vernal equinox! Snow predicted for most of the week, and DST has made my mornings dark, but the days are growing longer and almost all the snow from the first of the year has melted.

My fiber vacation has begun! Saturday I finished spinning 4 oz of fiber.. and couldn't get the flyer off my Majacraft to remove the bobbin. Finally did, but then couldn't get the plying flyer on. Today, after a late start, I got my warp wound on spools and started winding on to the warp beam. Going to make some "Pendleton worms" rag rugs, using the trimmings from Pendleton blankets as weft. There's an example in the second picture. Sore back, but happy! @fiberarts@a.gup.pe

One of the perks of this job. I admired one of our pt's s beadwork, and she did this for me.
