Waffle weave dishcloth Redux. I found my pristine sampleand, even better, the pre-wet finishing sample. I still love live fabrics - collapse twill, lace, etc. Where the magic really is in the water (aka wet finishing)

@Arachne oh dear. Yes, a long and deep rabbit hole.
Thanks for staying me down there. 🤣
@Arachne I really don’t need another hobby, but these textures are so cool and structural and the temptation to get a loom is increasing…
@lgbookworm they are fun, and you can start simple -I really like multishaft weaving.
@Arachne I never want to start anything simple, lol. If I learn to weave, I want to have a number of shafts to play with! But I am resisting acquiring another craft. So far.
@lgbookworm I hear you - I spent a weekend with a friend in her shop learning the basics, then went out and bought a small 8 shaft loom, put a 15 yard warp of singles on it at 24 epi, made a mess of the whole thing, but managed to salvage the child's tabbard and my partner's ruana out of that.. and was hooked. You do need to have a high tolerance for repetition and delayed gratification - dressing the loom scares a lot of folks off.
@Arachne I love how the colors highlight the weave structure.
@Arachne collapse twill?
Sounds like a whole new rabbit hole. Love it.
