I submitted a request for @Vimeo & @SoundCloud to embrace #ActivityPub / #Fediverse & expectedly received the corporate response. Cue Weird @AlYankovic music video: https://youtu.be/GyV_UG60dD4
But I am hopeful. On August 8th I requested that Tumblr embrace ActivityPub & received a similar response on September 1st (😅 a little late). In November Tumblr announced they will join the Fediverse soonish, with Flickr thinking about joining too.
I am debating about asking YouTube too. Hmm…

I'm about the age when one normally has a mid-life crisis. I bought myself a bicycle to replace my 23 year old bicycle. I did *not* go overpay for a social media site and then seek to destroy its value in less than a month.

I think, on the whole, I'm doing okay so far.

@protecttruth Yeah. I looked at that thread (what?) and it's...wow. Just a lot of "wow". Whole lot of discussions about a platform that people don't seem to understand the purpose of.

My Twitter TL has thinned out considerable. Infosec accounts I follow don't seem to posting; Law people have migrated here; big blue check accounts are stuck, watching their numbers dwindle; my Twitter friends are over here; Lastly, I don't feel much like participating in Elon's circus. Not throwing in the towel yet, but the writing may be on the wall.

I haven’t seen an exodus like this since, well, Exodus. And Elon Musk reminds Me a lot of the pharaoh of Egypt. Just another repugnant, spoiled-brat trust-fund baby whose father made a lot of money through forced labor.

Mastodon has changed how I think. Twitter now seems like a server that doesn't want to federate with anyone else, and that everyone else has blacklisted. I'm in awe of how much sense that makes.

I don’t think Elon should let Trump back on Twitter just because of a poll. After all, following the will of the people isn’t what Trump would have wanted.
