I bought a Stevie Wonder CD (I like to have the hard copy, don't judge) and just wanted to copy it to the laptop and then to my phone.
It took an hour to figure out how do do all this. Why, Apple? Stuff used to be so intuitive, and now I'm helpless in the face of the tech. I can see a scenario where it's because I'm, let's say, not getting any smarter as I age, but please, no.

That's because Apple wants to lock you into using iTunes.
There's a much easier way to handle your music collection *if* you have access to a shared drive. There's an iOS app called Music Streamer that can link up to a shared drive on your PC. From there, you can stream music from the share if you only listen at home, or download directly to your iOS device for when you're on the road.
