🇺🇦One year ago Mr. Musk announced he would purchase Twitter. As a result I began this central depository of media involving Ukraine for Mastodon. I am humbled and moved that our community has grown to over 51,500 people in the first year. My hope is there will be no reason for this channel’s existence by next year. All of you are why Ukraine will win, and our children’s children will speak of Ukraine with pride. Thank you all for giving your time and attention to Ukraine. Slava Ukraine! #Ukraine

‘As the food warmed they sat quietly around the fire wrapped in their cloaks. Thick clouds covered the stars and nail-paring of a moon; the only light was the dancing red and yellow of the flame.’

SPEAR is wonderful – congratulations @Nicolaz

The worst thing that ever happened in software engineering was when Kirk asked Scotty how long something would take and Scotty said thirty minutes and Kirk said you’ve got five and Scotty got it done in five and impressionable children watched this and grew up to become managers.

"Rock Lobster" is a B-52 song. It was released on this day in 1978 as the debut single and is included on the band's self-titled debut album released 1 year later

I have a foolproof plan to infiltrate and destroy Twitter. Please support my Patreon so I can aquire the necessary gear, which includes:

-three oven mitts.
-a tactical sombrero.
-vocal chord surgery that will allow me to communicate with the reptiles.
-an unspecified number of used marbles.
-Eminem's butler.
-an encyclopedia with all the big words crossed out.
-Season five of the X-Files on DVD (blessed by the Pope).
-Uma Thurman's stunt double's stunt double.

@historyofpunkrock Where and when I grew up, the radio choices were mostly disco, oldies, or AOR. So I listened to AOR. I heard "Rock Lobster" my senior year of high school. It was a revelation that permanently changed my musical tastes. Still love that song.

@historyofpunkrock I hear "45 years ago", and I think, "during war times, right?"

Then I remember I'm not a child in the 80s-90s anymore.

And then I remember that I am old.
