When David Attenborough filmed the falls back in the day, the water was clear and beautiful. These days, it's polluted by agriculturally-caused soil erosion. Still amazing, but not what it once was

It's Thursday here in Aus, but apparently it's also #WaterfallWednesday, so I present a picture of the lovely Goðafoss waterfall in #Iceland. (in Icelandic, the name means waterfall of the gods [or possibly chieftain] or waterfall of the goði)

The myth that the name of the waterfall refers to the destruction of pagan idols is apparently a nineteenth century fabrication, according to Wikipedia, though our tour guide repeated it as accepted fact.
