It would make more sense to me if they were protesting against the pain and suffering caused all around. People who exclusively support one set of people without any regard for the lives of another set will not help bring peace to the region.

Defacing a public library doesn't endear anyone to your cause, either.

Being diagnosed with Sjogren's after 10+ years of intense, life altering, depression causing symptoms SAVED MY LIFE. That's not being hyperbolic. There were MANY days that I thought to myself, "If this is what I am going to feel like the rest of my life, no thank you." When I think about COVID, I don't think about dying, I think about it making my Sjogren's so bad again that the meds no longer work. THAT TERRIFIES ME.

Some thoughts to brighten your outlook on next year’s presidential election. Today’s piece expands upon my earlier piece on why I remain cautiously optimistic over Joe Biden’s chances. open.substack.com/pub/statusku

1. Getting an early start on my traditional day-after turkey soup. 🦃
2. My son volunteered to deliver soup to my parents and aunt after it's done. 💜
3. I've got some good tunes from @labr to listen to while I work on the soup and cleaning up. 🎶

Just remembered this amazing quote from Sir Terry Pratchett, about Tolkien and the entire fantasy genre:

"J.R.R. Tolkien has become a sort of mountain, appearing in all subsequent fantasy in the way that Mt. Fuji appears so often in Japanese prints. Sometimes it’s big and up close. Sometimes it’s a shape on the horizon. Sometimes it’s not there at all, which means that the artist either has made a deliberate decision against the mountain, which is interesting in itself, or is in fact standing on Mt. Fuji.”

Thanks for posting the Swing edition on labr.online/replay/
I just got to Minnie the Moocher! 😁

RIP, Dianne . It's easy to forget the great things she did, so here's a reminder from Wonkette:

I have to practice saying "arsenuranospathite" so I can tell my son that has more votes. Let's see if he's able to respond like he did with lizardite and say, "Good! F**k arsenuranospathite!" 😁

I voted for , because...
Behold! My engagement ring from (mumble mumble) years ago. Sapphire because I think diamonds are boring.

This time, instead of just looking at the Wikipedia pictures, I also skimmed the articles, and learned that is used in manufacturing paper to make it smoother and brighter. As someone who occasionally uses brush pens, I *do* appreciate smooth paper that won't make my brush pens fray, so I'm voting for kaolinite!

🤣 I just told my son that has a substantial lead over lizardite, and he said, "Good! F**k lizardite!" (my apologies to any lizardite fans out there)

I'm so happy to see that is leading as of now. This has been my son's favorite mineral since his preschool days, when I would take him to the Gem and Mineral Hall at the Los Angeles Natural History Museum. Twenty years later, and he's still psyched that rhodochrosite was an entry in the bracket! 💕

I had been worrying that we haven't seen many bees in the yard lately, but today there were a decent number of bees hanging out in our kabocha blossoms. 😁 🐝
