Went for a walk around the Quidi Vidi Lake today and I am still thinking about this absurd bird feeder with spikes to prevent birds landing on it. I am confused, but somehow this is so St. John’s.

No, I don’t think so. It looks pretty much like a regular nesting box.
Maybe it’s to keep larger birds like Crows or Bald Eagles (both of which can be commonly seen around Quidi Vidi Lake) from preying/harassing on whatever is nesting inside?
@SisterArtemis That’s what I am wondering, too ! The spikes still seem a bit excessive :)
