Figured out that if I view this site in a browser, as opposed to the Android app, I'm not stuck with the annoying CW cut tags. It was getting pretty redundant to log in and see only a page full of those. I'll probably delete the app; this is much easier to use.

Fwiw, some recommended I use the "tusky" Android app rather than the mastodon one, andi like it better.
