@pzmyers There was a lot I appreciated about Minnesota, but the sticky hot summers and the lack of mountains or ocean drove me back west.
Duluth would be possible, except 1) my Louisiana-born wife would be beyond miserable; 2) As an old I don't know I could do a Northern MN winter
As soon as I can retire, it's back to the PNW for me.
@Arachne My fantasy was to retire & move to Washington. Unfortunately, all my kids grew up in the Midwest, & this is where THEY want to live. Family beats landscape.
